Curdworth Bottom Lock Mooring
Posted in Birm & Fazeley on October 6, 2008 by crumblingcanalsThe problem is caused by the nearby Canal Pond overflowing after periods of heavy rain. This erodes the lock moorings below. This has happened 3 times now in 18months. As well as damaging the moorings it’s filling the canal with silt! Just a few well placed sand bags would be a short term fix, but with no lengthsmen who will install them? Penny wise, pound foolish again.
Overflow at Fazeley
Posted in Birm & Fazeley on August 9, 2008 by crumblingcanalsBelieve it or not this spill controls the water level of the Coventry and the Birmingham & Fazeley canal for a large area around Fazeley. It is completely overgrown with weeds. I just hope we don’t have the same sort of rainfall as last summer! The irony is the spill is 15mins walk from the BW offices at Peels Wharf!
